2. You??™ve seen a number of nodes used earlier in the chapter that create computergenerated
textures. But what about image maps? No problem! From the Add
Node drop-down menu, choose 2D Textures, then Image. Figure 11.52 shows
the added node.

3. Double-click the Image node to open the
Properties panel. You??™ll see a large panel with
quite a few options, more than any imagemapping
feature in previous versions of
LightWave. Figure 11.53 shows the panel.
4. In the Image panel, select Load Image
from the Image drop-down. Choose
the MetalGrate.jpg image from the
Projects\Images\CH11 directory. Figure
11.54 shows the loaded image.
The Image node properties allow you to
change the blending, rotation, falloff, and
more for the image. Blending properties are
similar to those found in programs like
Adobe Photoshop, such as additive, subtractive,
lighten, and more. You can also rotate
the image or make the image fade by setting
falloff values. You can also edit the image by
clicking the Edit Image panel, which brings
you right to LightWave??™s native Image Editor.
