"Inside LightWave v9"

84.
Figure 11.82 Add a Specular shading
node, Blinn.
Figure 11.84 A few changes to the
Blinn shader and your final banana surface
setting is in place.
26. Save your work! Press Ctrl+s to save the scene. Also for safety, from the File dropdown
menu in Layout, select Save All Objects. Figure 11.85 shows the VIPER
window displaying the surface changes to the banana.
Figure 11.85 By adding the Specular Shading node, the banana no longer has a bright white
hot spot but a more natural shine.
If you look at the Node Editor, it almost looks too complex to be something you??™ve
created. But think about what you??™ve just done, and you realize that it??™s not so hard! By
creating your ???network??? of surfaces, or nodes, one step at a time, you can see that the multilayering
texturing capabilities of the Node Editor are very powerful.
The Next Step
This process of adding nodes and experimenting with different results could go on for
pages and pages. But because there??™s so much more to cover in LightWave v9, we created
a video to show you how to texture the orange, grapes, and bowl of the still-life scene. Take
a look at the StillLife.
