"Inside LightWave v9"

Note
4. With the penguin model selected, click the Setup
tab and then click Bone in the Add category.
Enter the name Body for this bone in the panel
that appears and click OK. You??™ll see a bone
added to the object at the base of the foot
(Figure 12.6).
The bone might be a bit hard to see because its
outline is dotted to indicate the bone is not yet
active. Also, despite appearances, the bone is not
actually added to the bottom of the foot; it??™s
associated with the entire penguin model,
aligned along the Z-axis.
Front Face Wireframe is a good viewing option for bones because LightWave only
shows the wireframes visible to your view. This simplifies what you see, making placement
of bones much easier. A normal wireframe view will show not only what??™s in
view of the camera, but the other side of the object as well, sometimes making it a bit
confusing to determine the shape, size, angle, or position of the object.

5. The bone position now needs to be set so that it can properly control the object.
