Click the Use Bones From
Object drop-down list at the top of the Properties panel (it says ???self??? by default)
and choose Layer 1, which contains the Penguin-body object (Figure 12.23). This
tells the eye object to use the bones from the body object.
Figure 12.23 Tell the eye object layer to use the bones from the body of the penguin, Layer 1.
16. Now select the second eye, and repeat the previous step. Select the Neck bone and
move the head around. The eyes now follow along (Figure 12.24).
17. Save your scene.
18. Move down to the feet and select RightFoot (2), the small bone that serves as an
anklebone. Press y to activate the Rotate tool and twist the bone. What happens?
The feet move (Figure 12.25). Yes,
both feet. You want to move just the
one foot. Even though the feet are
attached to each other, you should still
be able to move each one independently.
So, you need to create another
hierarchy for the left foot.
19. Before you edit any bones, it??™s a good
idea to deactivate them. You can do
this quickly by going to the Setup tab
and selecting Bones Off from the
Bones menu, under the General category,
as shown in Figure 12.
