Remember that you can name each
Skelegon as you create it in the Numeric
panel. After you name a Skelegon, each
one you create from that point takes on
that name as well.
Continue renaming Skelegons in this panel. Note that the panel can??™t stay open
while you work, so finish your business and then close it to move on.
12. Save your object. Saving the object also saves the bone structure.
From here, you can create the Skelegons for the legs. However, you need to build
these Skelegons from the original mid-section Skelegon??”building Skelegon hierarchies
in the opposite direction of those you created for the arms.
Note
Creating Skelegons for the legs can be slightly tricky because you need to now build the
Skelegons in another layer. To better explain this,we??™ve included a video tutorial available
as a free download from www.3dgarage.com. Download the Skelegons tutorial video and
continue rigging this baby!
Completing the Skelegon Rig
The process you??™ve just completed puts you on your way to successfully creating a bone
structure for bipedal characters. You still would need to build the leg structure of the character
for both legs, and there??™s a little trick or two for the hips, which is explained in the
video portion of this chapter.
