However, the advantage of Skelegons is that you can quickly
and easily mirror the structure for the opposite side of the object. You don??™t have to draw
Skelegons again because Skelegons are a polygon type. In the video exercise, you can apply
Modeler tools to them and adjust their position, size, and so on.
Here area few extra tips about Skelegons:
?—? You can use them like polygons, adjusting the points and varying the size.
?—? Skelegon structures can be loaded back into Modeler and adjusted or added on to
at any time.
?—? If you have created a full structure for a creature but realize later that you need
more control, you can split a Skelegon by selecting Split Skelegon from the
Construct tab. Also, you can select multiple Skelegons and split them at once. The
split will always just slice a selected bone into two equal-sized smaller Skelegons.
?—? You can define a weight map for a Skelegon, just as you can for a bone, using tools
on the Detail tab.
If you name the Skelegon and the weight map identically, the weight maps are automatically
applied in Layout when the Skelegons are converted to bones. Note that this
is case-sensitive.
