"Inside LightWave v9"

3. To activate HyperVoxels for the particle emitter, either double-click the Smoke
entry in the Object Name list, or select it once and click the Activate button just
above the top-left corner of the Object Name list window.
The grayed-out controls in the panel??™s Geometry tab will become active, and
you??™ll see that the Particle Size setting has been set for you automatically.
4. Move the timeline slider to a frame in which some particles have been emitted.
You??™ll be previewing your particle-surface settings in the VIPER window, so we
need to work in a frame in which some particles appear.
5. Now, the best way to begin setting up smoke for these particles is to use VIPER
(press F7). Because you??™re using HyperVoxels instead of standard surface attributes,
you don??™t need to run a screen render to load the VIPER buffer before VIPER can
preview your effect settings (Figure 13.27). You might need to click the Render
button directly in the VIPER window to preview the particles.
Figure 13.27 VIPER is the only way to go for setting up HyperVoxels interactively on
your particles.
6. VIPER shows the particles as they appear to the scene??™s default camera, so if need
be, position the camera in such a way that you can see the particle stream.
