Right-click on the My Network
Places icon (again this will differ
depending on the version of
Windows you are using; if in
doubt as to where the option is,
do a search in Windows Help).
See Figure 15.21.
There will be an option called
Map Network Drive. Clicking the
option invokes another window,
as shown in Figure 15.22.
Figure 15.21 Right-click on
My Network Places and select
Map Network Drive.
Figure 15.22 The Map Network Drive dialog box is
where you can configure drives from your network.
The Map Network Drive dialog box is
where you set which letter you want
to assign; in our ScreamerNet example,
S: seems to makes sense. After a
letter is selected, you can then set the
path to map the letter to in the Folder
pull-down menu. Alternatively, you
can click the Browse button and
browse the network for the folder
(see Figure 15.23).
When done, click the Finish button.
If you now look in My Computer,
you see a new drive called S:, which
points to the folder you specified.
Any reference to the S: drive goes
straight to that folder, as shown in
Figure 15.24.
